Job Description

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is hiring a Financial System Analyst for a 1-year non-reimbursable assignment with the United States Secret Service in Washington, DC.

This is a detail, not a developmental rotation, and you will perform as an incumbent in the position. The role focuses on analyzing and implementing financial management system software and enhancements.

You will maintain financial application modules and interfaces with other business systems, providing input to the design and development of integrated systems to improve office functions.

You will also monitor systems control, security, and performance, and test system applications and interfaces to determine their impact on automated systems.

This position is ideal for current federal employees at the GS-12 or GS-13 level who have experience with financial systems and want to contribute to DHS mission-critical operations. The work area requires onsite presence and a Top Secret security clearance.

Salary / Pay Package: $101,401 - $185,234 per year.

Qualification

To qualify for this GS-12/13 Financial System Analyst position, you must be a current permanent federal employee with supervisory approval to apply. You must have experience assisting with the analysis and implementation of financial management system software and enhancements.

Role Responsibilities

  • Formulate application proposals that identify specific products or functions.
  • Participate in testing and evaluating new principles, techniques, and procedures through prototype methods and system models.
  • Monitor systems control, security, and performance.
  • Work in a consultative role with officials on financial, property, procurement, and other automated systems.
  • Participate in operational projects to meet system requirements.
  • Communicate with technical specialists to obtain information and provide technical guidance.
