Job Description
The Department of the Navy is hiring a Combined Trades Supervisor II to lead and coordinate trades and labor operations at naval shipyards and maintenance facilities.
This role is based in San Diego, CA, with additional locations including Pearl Harbor, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. As a supervisor, you will plan work assignments, ensure materials and tools are available, and coordinate work across multiple trades.
You will also participate in long-range planning, set deadlines, and enforce safety and disciplinary standards. This position is ideal for experienced trade supervisors who want to apply their leadership skills in a federal environment supporting national defense.

Salary & Compensation
Estimated market salary: $45,000 - $85,000 per year.
Qualification
This position requires the ability to supervise through subordinate supervisors, as demonstrated by experience and training. The screen-out element is ABILITY TO SUPERVISE THROUGH SUBORDINATE SUPERVISORS. Applicants must meet OPM qualification standards for trades and labor occupations.

- Experience planning and assigning work to meet schedules.
- Knowledge of trade practices, blueprints, and materials.
- Skill in coordinating multiple trades and work zones.
- Experience with nuclear and non-nuclear maintenance operations.
- Ability to identify training needs and enforce discipline.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must pass a pre-appointment physical and drug test.
- Must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
Role Responsibilities
Plan overall work assignments on immediate and long-range basis.
- Ensure plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available.
- Control work of lead shops and coordinate miscellaneous trades.
- Participate in combined nuclear and non-nuclear long-range planning.
- Establish and explain work requirements to subordinate supervisors.
- Set deadlines, priorities, and sequences for work operations.
- Identify training and qualification needs of subordinates.
- Enforce disciplinary actions and recommend personnel actions.

Additional Information
This is a bargaining unit position.
- May require travel on military and commercial aircraft to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
