About A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) is a Cabinet-level agency of the United States government, established on May 4, 1980, by the Department of Education Organization Act. Its mission is to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access. ED administers federal student aid programs, oversees accreditation of postsecondary institutions, and provides resources for students, families, and educators across all levels of education. The Department's headquarters is located at 400 Maryland Ave, SW Washington, DC 20202.
