Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) is the Echelon II command under the Chief of Naval Operations responsible for worldwide U.S. Navy shore installation management. Established on October 1, 2003, CNIC serves as the Navy's shore integrator, designing and developing integrated solutions for sustainment and development of Navy shore infrastructure. Headquartered at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC, CNIC oversees 10 Navy regions, 70 installations, and more than 53,000 military and civilian personnel worldwide. The command's mission is to provide ready regions and installation platforms that deliver warfighting readiness, base operations, and Quality of Service for the Navy, supporting the Fleet, Fighter, and Family.
