About DLA Installation Support
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is the nation's combat logistics support agency, managing the end-to-end global defense supply chain from raw materials to end user disposition. DLA supports the five military services, 11 combatant commands, other federal, state and local agencies, and partner and allied nations. With approximately 25,000 employees, DLA procures items from manufacturers and suppliers, provides warehousing, packaging, and transportation services, and disposes of excess military property through reutilization, resale, and demilitarization programs. In fiscal year 2025, DLA provided more than $51.8 billion in goods and services.
As of July 2026, DLA continues to modernize its operations, with a focus on building a unified digital backbone as outlined in the Fiscal 2027 Annual Guidance. The agency recently deactivated DLA Aviation and DLA Land and Maritime to form DLA Weapons Support, a new integrated major subordinate command headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. DLA also hosts events such as the Air, Space & Cyber Conference and the AUSA Annual Meeting to engage with industry and warfighters.
