About Field Operations Directorate, District 11
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is a Cabinet-level federal agency with a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the hard work of more than 260,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. Our duties are wide-ranging, and our goal is clear - keeping America safe. DHS was established in 2002, combining 22 different federal departments and agencies into a unified, integrated Cabinet agency. The Department is led by Secretary Markwayne Mullin and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
As of July 2026, DHS continues to deliver on its mission under the Trump Administration, including 11 consecutive months of zero releases at the southern border and historically low border crossings. The Department is actively enforcing immigration laws, arresting and removing criminal illegal aliens, and transforming disaster response through FEMA. DHS also announced a rule change to the asylum system to reduce backlog, and ICE continues to arrest 'worst of the worst' criminal aliens.
