Airport Floor Techs and Custodians

To qualify for these positions, you need a high school diploma or equivalent and knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety protocols. Experience with floor care equipment is preferred for Floor Technician roles.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of maintaining cleaning equipment and products.
• Knowledge of general cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of airport security protocol.
• Knowledge of mixing rules and regulations of cleaning chemicals and solutions.
• Knowledge of safety and cleaning products and equipment.
• Ability to work on ladders and scaffolds up to 20 feet high.
• Ability to remove and lift large amounts of trash and other waste.
• Ability to operate power tools and equipment such as floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, side-by-side buffers, and lifts.
• Ability to identify safety and security hazards.

Perform general cleaning duties in airport terminals, offices, and public areas.

• Operate floor care equipment including scrubbers, buffers, and carpet extractors.
• Remove trash and waste from designated areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other facilities.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
• Report safety hazards, security concerns, and maintenance needs.
• Follow airport security protocols and maintain a secure work environment.
• Work on ladders and scaffolds to clean high surfaces.
• Assist with snow removal and other outdoor maintenance as needed.
• Perform routine inspections of cleaning equipment and report malfunctions.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays (24/7 operation).

• Shift differential available for swing and night shifts.
• Must pass a background check and airport security screening.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license may be required for certain duties.

Competitive hourly wage: $16.15

• $18.92 for Custodian, $17.53
• $20.81 for Floor Technician.
