Apprentice Field Service Technician, NF-03/RFT is listed by ARMY RECREATION MACHINE PROGRAMS (ARMP). The Army Recreation Machine Programs (ARMP) is hiring an Apprentice Field Service Technician to support gaming and amusement equipment operations in APO, AE.
This full-time NF-03 position is ideal for individuals with hands-on mechanical aptitude and a high school diploma who want to start a federal career in equipment maintenance and cash handling. As an apprentice, you will work under the direct supervision of the field operations manager and senior technicians.
Your primary duties include collecting and documenting cash from gaming and non-gaming equipment, verifying jackpots, and maintaining accurate records. You will also clean, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on machines, install upgrades, and assist with network support.
This role requires physical stamina—frequent climbing, lifting over 45 pounds, and working in confined spaces. You will be based in Kaiserslautern, Germany (APO, AE 09006) and must reside within commuting distance. Salary & Compensation
Salary: $35,000 - $35,500 per year.
Qualification

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform cash collections from gaming and non-gaming equipment using data collection devices or handwritten documents.
- Conduct automated cash machine (ACM) count-downs and fills.
- Count and record all coin and currency counts in the presence of a location representative.
- Check, verify, and record machine bookkeeping data; prepare drop documentation.
- Ensure data uploads are complete and documentation is accurately filed.
- Verify, process, and authorize payment of gaming machine jackpots.
- Clean all gaming and non-gaming equipment as directed.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on gaming and amusement equipment, ACM, and card dispensers.
- Install upgrades and assist with equipment and network support.
- Coordinate with ARMP staff and partners as needed.
Conditions & Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen, hold a valid U.S. passport, and be at least 18 years old.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card required upon appointment.
- All required background checks per AR 215-3 must be satisfactorily completed and maintained, including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Pre-employment physical is required.

- Successful completion of an on-the-job training certification program in cash collection, gaming/non-gaming equipment, and ARMP network within one year of employment.

- Work requires considerable physical exertion: frequent climbing, lifting objects over 45 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas.
- May be required to drive in adverse conditions.
