To qualify, you need a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university. Alternatively, a California Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate plus at least 1 year of relevant engineering office or field work is accepted.

• OR possession of a California Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate and at least 1 year of electrical or mechanical engineering office/field experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MATLAB).
• Valid California Class C driver's license at time of appointment and throughout employment.
• Desirable: Registration as an Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineer in California.
• Desirable: Experience with ESRI-based Geographic Information System (GIS).
• Ability to perform all essential functions of the job, including shift work, weekends, and emergency response.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.; the City will not sponsor H1B or other visa applications.

Perform entry-level professional electric utility engineering field and office work.

• Assist in electric system planning, design, construction, and maintenance programs.
• Conduct design work and establish engineering standards.
• Implement construction projects under supervision.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on various assignments.
• May be assigned to any division within the Electric Department.
• Prepare reports, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and GIS tools.
