Child and Youth Program Assistant (CDC) is listed by 45th Force Support Squadron. The 2 at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, is seeking a Child and Youth Plan Assistant (CYPA) to perform in the Child Development Center.
This Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) role is versatile, guaranteeing zero hours per week but offering up to 40 hours per week as needed. You’ll be responsible for the safety, supervision, and development of children and youth ranging from 6 weeks to 18 years aged.
As a CYPA, you’ll support with preparing age-appropriate activities, supervise indoor and outdoor play, lead field trips and distinct events, and assist cater to snacks and meals.
At the target level, you’ll coordinate and run activities, generate a welcoming environment, carry out programs for children with unique requires, and brief workforce and parents. At the intermediate level, you’ll help with planning and coordinating activities. Entry-level candidates obtain on-the-job training.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $18.07 - $21.92 per hour.
Qualification
This role is unseal to all U.S. Citizens and nationals. You must be at least 18 years longstanding, a high school graduate or equivalent, and capable to communicate effectively in English. Eligibility will be verified through the submission questionnaire and required documents.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent (offer diploma or GED).
- For Target Level: 18 months of know-how in a childcare or youth scheme, plus completion of DoD approved competency-training courses, OR a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent, OR an associate degree with 24 credit hours in ahead of time childhood education or related field, OR a bachelor's degree with 24 credit hours in a related field.
- For Intermediate Level: 6 months of background equivalent to CY-01 Entry Level in a cluster program for children or youth, plus completion of 3 AF modules (or equivalent) and AF Orientation Training Plan.
- For Entry Level: No previous experience required.
- Education may be substituted for expertise. Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalency.
- You must be fit to obtain and keep up called for immunizations, including annual influenza vaccination.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug test, and Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must obtain Food Handlers certification within specified time from take on.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Solution.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Give care, supervision, and accountability for scheme participants.
- Aid with getting ready and carrying out age-appropriate activities.
- Manage children and youth during indoor/outdoor activities, field trips, outings, and distinct events.
- Set up and assist snacks and meals under regulations.
- Execute operate in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Arrange and conduct activities for children/youth (Target Level).
- Build an environment that welcomes participant interest and advances positive interactions.
- Put in place program options for children and youth with unique requirements.
- Reveal, instruct, lead, and facilitate planned and spontaneous activities.
- Brief team, management, and parents on activities and participant progress.
Conditions & Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of recruit.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment reviews and Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- Consent to pre-employment and random drug testing (Test Designated Position).
- Favorable pre-employment physical (covers physical lifting requirement).
- Supply evidence of current immunizations (annual flu shot called for).
- Complete assigned training, such as Food Handlers certification, within specified time.
- Must be capable to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
