Qualification

To qualify for this GS-13 Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Supervisor post, you must be a U.S. Citizen with a degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program and grip a packed, current, unrestricted pharmacist license. You also require one year of know-how equivalent to GS-12 and demonstrated supervisory expertise.

  • U.S. Citizenship required; non-citizens may be appointed only if no qualified citizens are on offer.
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited pharmacy scheme with a BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree.
  • Foreign graduates must give FPGEC certification covering passing the FPGEE and TOEFL iBT.
  • Complete, existing, unrestricted pharmacist license in a state, territory, or D.C.
  • English language proficiency called for by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
  • One year of expertise equivalent to GS-12 level.
  • KSAs: aptitude to supervise subordinate team, communicate orally and in writing, pro understanding of regulatory and caliber standards, and competence in managing people or programs.
  • Preferred: extensive supervisory background in a hospital inpatient pharmacy.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, carry out, assess, monitor, and document therapeutic blueprints for patients.
  • Apply best evidence to choose effective, least toxic, and most economical medication treatments.
  • Reach positive patient outcomes through straight and indirect interactions with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Perform physical assessments and order laboratory tests to evaluate medication therapy efficacy and toxicity.
  • Keep up, monitor, and proper workflow challenges within assigned domains.
  • Create policies and procedures for secure and cost-effective medication use.
  • Document recommendations, concerns, and medication problems in the medical record.
  • Manage and train pharmacy residents, students, and technicians; evaluate performance.
