Qualification
You may qualify at the CO-05, CO-07, or CO-09 level based on education, experience, or a combination. U.S. Citizenship is required.
- CO-05 level: Four years of education above high school (any field) OR a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- CO-05 level: One year of general work experience supporting projects, programs, or assignments in agricultural operations, agricultural management, governmental programs, or related office/customer service functions. Experience must demonstrate ability to analyze problems, gather data, plan work, resolve conflict, and communicate effectively.
- CO-05 level: A combination of education and experience as described above.
- CO-07 level: One full year of graduate education from an accredited college or university.
- CO-07 level: Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) with a bachelor's degree and GPA of 3.0 overall, 3.5 in major during last two years, upper third of class, or membership in a national scholastic honor society.
- CO-07 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to CO-05 or GS-5, demonstrating knowledge of fact-finding, analysis, and problem-solving techniques applied to agricultural program requirements.
- CO-07 level: A combination of graduate education and specialized experience.
- CO-09 level: A master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher graduate education.
- CO-09 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to CO-07 or GS-7, demonstrating knowledge of agricultural program policies and practices to independently examine applications and reports, and apply analytical techniques to assess program effectiveness.
- CO-09 level: A combination of graduate education and specialized experience.
Role Responsibilities
Carry out office activities and functions for one or more program areas administered in the county.
- Interpret and explain procedures, program regulations, and forms to producers and other agency personnel.
- Use various web-based software applications to maintain producer data and process automated forms.
- Use initiative and judgment in planning and carrying out assigned tasks.
- Resolve problems encountered in daily operations.
- Assist in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of agricultural program operations and recommend improvements.
- Examine applications, supporting documents, and program reports independently.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with program requirements.
