Qualification
California certification as a qualified Court Interpreter is called for. You must also have a high school diploma or GED, certified training in language interpretation, and one year of interpreting expertise for a public or confidential agency.

Role Responsibilities
Interpret from and into English and Spanish using simultaneous and consecutive modes during court proceedings.
- Perform sight translations of court documents such as petitions, reports, waivers, and felony disposition forms.
- Interpret for judges, attorneys, court workforce, and other court-related departments as directed.
- Carry to the court’s attention any concerns that may impede interpretation performance.
- Research and understand legal terminology and court functions.
- Obtain everyday calendar assignments from the Trial Court Interpreter Coordinator or Supervisor and wrap up activity logs.
- Supply general court data to the non-English speaking public at an details counter.
