Job Description
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is hiring a Deputy Director for the Office of Technical Reporting and Economics (OTRE) in Washington, DC.
This senior executive position supports the OTRE Director in providing vision and leadership for economic and technical analyses, reports, and outreach related to wholesale and interstate energy markets and infrastructure under FERC jurisdiction. OTRE produces critical analyses that inform FERC's regulatory decisions.
The Deputy Director will help shape the office's mission, strategic plans, and performance targets.
Qualification
To qualify, you must be a U.S. Citizen or National and demonstrate the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and Technical Qualifications (TQs) within a resume not to exceed 2 pages. - TQ 1: Demonstrated experience developing and executing economic and technical analyses, reports, and outreach associated with wholesale and interstate energy markets and infrastructure under FERC jurisdiction.

Role Responsibilities
Support the Director in providing vision and leadership for OTRE's economic and technical analyses, reports, and outreach.
- Help develop the Commission's strategic plan and performance targets.
- Develop the Office's mission and vision statements, goals, and strategic plans.
- Initiate and oversee economic and technical analyses involving FERC-jurisdictional matters under the Federal Power Act, Natural Gas Act, Natural Gas Policy Act, Interstate Commerce Act, Energy Policy Act of 2005, and Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.
- Support the Office of General Counsel and program offices with technical and economic analyses for proposed orders, policies, strategies, and regulations.
- Lead major public-facing initiatives such as technical conferences, public reports, or Congressionally-mandated studies.
- Ensure alignment of office activities with FERC's mission and statutory responsibilities.

- Subject to a 1-year SES/supervisory probationary period (unless already completed).
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine suitability.
