Job Description

El Paso County's Department of Human Solutions is hiring a Budget Analyst to offer the analytical foundation for the annual County budget. In this role, you’ll analyze budgets, produce meaningful financial reports, collaborate with department leaders and state partners, and hand over insights that drive informed decision-making.

This role gives a hybrid schedule after an first evaluation period and flexible hours between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Salary & Compensation

Salary: $67,850 - $101,870 per year.

Qualification

To qualify for this Budget Analyst role, you must encounter the minimum qualifications established by El Paso County. This role calls for a combination of education and know-how in budgeting, financial analysis, or a related field.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor budget expenditures and revenues, spotting variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to build and justify budget proposals.
  • Help with the preparation of the County's annual budget document.
  • Run financial modeling and cost-benefit analysis for proposed programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and area financial regulations and policies.
  • Give training and guidance to department team on budget-related matters.
  • Participate in distinct projects and financial studies as assigned.

  • Must pass a background review, covering a State Plan Fraud and Child Welfare Abuse & Neglect database (TRAILS) inspect.
  • Must be legally authorized to operate in the United States.
  • Must have a sound driver's license or alternative transportation.
