You must have a bachelor’s degree in public administration or a related field.. With at least 15 years of progressively responsible fire offering experience.. Such as a minimum of one year as a Battalion Chief or equivalent command-level role.

• Sturdy labor-management relationship expertise.
• Expertise working in the Central Arizona Automatic Aid Consortium (very desirable).
• Commitment to assists a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Oversee the Expert Standards or Operations division of the Fire Department.

• Aid with command and control functions at emergency incidents.
• Give strategic leadership and direction to department personnel.
• Create and put in place organizational initiatives and policies.
• Mentor and grow upcoming fire offering leaders.
• Backs a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Engage employees, labor representatives, and stakeholders in shared decision-making.
• Construct and uphold trust, transparency, and mutual respect within the department.
• Collaborate with other agencies in the Central Arizona Automatic Aid Consortium.
• Represent the Fire Department in community and skilled settings.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or cleared to perform in the United States.

• Legitimate driver’s license.
• Pass a background investigation and drug screening.
• Capacity to function evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Uphold physical fitness standards as required by the department.
• Residency within a reasonable response distance to Goodyear may be called for.
