Job Description
The City of Berkeley Public Works Department is looking for an Electrician to perform skilled electrical work across city infrastructure.
You will install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment for street lighting, traffic signal control, sewage lift stations, HVAC and automation, building power distribution, fire alarm systems, and related equipment. The role requires operating hand and power tools and ensuring safe practices.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $116,912 - $128,127 per year.
Qualification
To qualify, you need equivalent to graduation from high school and four years of progressively responsible electrical experience. You must also obtain a valid Class B California driver's license before appointment.

- Must obtain a valid Class B California driver's license prior to completion of the hiring process.
- Demonstrated competency in electrical mathematics, basic AC and DC theory, industrial electronics, motor controls, and electrical codes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment for street lighting and traffic signal control.
- Work on sewage lift stations, HVAC and automation systems.
- Maintain building power distribution and fire alarm systems.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ensure safe practices and operation of equipment.
- Perform related work as assigned.
