ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC

To qualify for the WG-1 level, you must have at least 12 months of specialized expertise installing, modifying, overhauling, keeping up, troubleshooting, repairing, aligning, calibrating, and rebuilding multi-system avionics complexes. Military grade requirement: Enlisted.

• General Background: Validated understanding of basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade; proficient in collecting and analyzing records, communicating evidently, and presenting official training.
• Specialized Know-how: 12 months of work involving installing, modifying, overhauling, keeping up, troubleshooting, repairing, aligning, calibrating, and rebuilding multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely 1 electronic avionics systems.
• Skilled in performing on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more finish electronic 1 systems associated with assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial or radar navigation systems.
• Expertise performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic 1 systems.
• Trained in carrying out operational inspects, inspections, tests, troubleshooting, removal and replacement of line replaceable units.
• Capacity to isolate rare malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, resources, and test equipment such as automatic test equipment and flight line test systems.
• Experience solving intricate challenges by analyzing installation, circuitry, and running characteristics of the systems.
• Education: High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• For ANG Dual Status Technician positions: completion of Air Force Three Skill Level Technical Training School and winning On-the-Job training resulting in award of a compatible Five Competence Level AFSC.

Install, modify, overhaul, uphold, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes.

• Perform on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic 1 systems associated with assigned aircraft.
• Run maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument 1, inertial or radar navigation systems.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on multi-complex electronic 1 systems.
• Carry out operational checks, inspections, tests, troubleshooting, removal and replacement of line replaceable units.
• Isolate odd malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment.
• Resolve involved problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and working characteristics of the systems.
• Adjust and align systems to confirm right operation.

National Guard membership is needed; must be willing to join the New York 1 Guard if not by now a member.
