Job Description
The Army National Guard Units, through AASF #1 in Winder, Georgia, is hiring an Electronics Mechanic (Title 32) to repair, inspect, maintain, modify, overhaul, and install avionics electronics equipment of moderate complexity.
You will work on components, assemblies, and subassemblies of UHF/VHF radio sets, VOR navigation radios, automatic direction finders, AM/FM radios, marker beacons, intercommunication sets, control consoles, speakers, stabilization augmentation systems, and similar electronic and navigation equipment.
Equipment functions include transmission, reception, indication, transformation, computation, mixing, amplification, conversion, sweep and pulse generation, timing, and modulation.
Qualification
To qualify for this WG-10 Electronics Mechanic position.. You must be a current Army M-Day member of the Georgia Army National Guard (military grades E3-E6) and possess 18 months of specialized experience in electronic systems or equipment. - Military Grades: E3-E6.
- Compatible Military Assignments: EMOS 15F, 15N.
- General Experience: Experience or training demonstrating knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, common testing procedures, skill in using hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics.
- Specialized Experience: 18 months of experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions, and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment.
- Experience diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems.
- Experience making mechanical repairs requiring precision measuring and calibrating equipment.
- Experience using complex test equipment such as deviation meters and special test panels.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.

Role Responsibilities
Repair, inspect, maintain, modify, overhaul, and install avionics electronics equipment of moderate complexity.
- Work on UHF/VHF radio sets, VOR navigation radios, automatic direction finders, AM/FM radios, marker beacons, intercommunication sets, control consoles, speakers, stabilization augmentation systems, and similar equipment.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot components, assemblies, or subassemblies.
- Remove and replace defective parts including transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, and switches.
- Modify equipment in accordance with published Modification Work Orders or Technical Bulletins.
- Troubleshoot aircraft wiring harnesses and connectors and repair by replacing wires, junction boxes, etc.
- Install equipment in aircraft as required.
Conditions & Requirements
National Guard membership is required; must be a current Army M-Day member of the Georgia Army National Guard.
- This is an excepted service position requiring a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard prior to effective date of placement.
