The City of Santee Fire Department is hiring an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Non-Safety to join its emergency response group. Under the direction of a Fire Captain.. You’ll respond to medical emergencies and other emergency and non-emergency situations..
Provide patient assessment and treatment per San Diego County protocols.. And assist on ALS fire companies and ambulances. Function in this role covers keeping up medical equipment, getting ready reports, driving ambulances, and performing station and equipment maintenance.
This full-time role gives 12 or 24-hour shifts and may require mandatory overtime to ensure continuous ALS ambulance staffing.
Qualification
To qualify for this EMT role.. You must encounter the following minimum needs at the time of take on: 18 years of age.. High school diploma or equivalent.. Legitimate California EMT-B certification with San Diego County accreditation.. A California Class C driver’s license.. An ambulance driver’s certificate.. And AHA BLS CPR certification.
Role Responsibilities
Respond safely to fire, medical, and other emergency calls with an emergency response crew.nPerform emergency medical patient assessment and treatment per San Diego County EMS protocols.nProvide emergency medical care on ALS fire companies and ALS ambulances.nMaintain and replenish medical equipment, medication, and supplies.nMaintain records and get ready written reports.nDrive and work workforce vehicles and ambulances as called for.nAssist in maintenance of vehicles, equipment, fire station, and grounds.nAttend drills, training, and conferences. Master fire department rules and procedures.
