Qualification

This interdisciplinary position may be filled by a General Engineer (0801), General Physical Scientist (1301), Operations Research Analyst (1515), Mathematician (1520), or Computer Scientist (1550). Applicants must meet the basic education requirements for one of these series and have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12/13) in federal service or equivalent private/public sector experience.

Role Responsibilities

Oversee and grow a portfolio of science and technology efforts supporting long-range sensing objectives.

  • Lead a team of scientists and engineers.
  • Engage in strategic planning and technology roadmapping to align S&T development with warfighter needs and DoD priorities.
  • Propose research ideas and define/manage statements of work toward new capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with external organizations to advance S&T concepts and promote involvement of developmental systems in military exercises.
  • Monitor research activity, evaluate technologies and products, and ensure strict adherence to security classification policy and guidance.
