The Environmental Services Technician/Housekeeping Aid position is situated within the Environmental Management Offerings Division of the Omaha VA Medical Center.

You’ll perform janitorial and custodial solutions such as textile distribution, sanitizing, disinfecting, waste removal, cleaning blinds, replacing curtains, washing windows and walls, dusting and polishing furniture, discharge cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing, extracting, and polishing floors.

Role Responsibilities

Bare trash and wastebaskets, substitute liners.

  • Transport general refuse, regulated medical waste, and recycling to central collection fields.
  • Perform packed span of light and hefty cleaning responsibilities: sweep, mop, scrub floors, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture.
  • Wipe down wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other spheres.
  • Dust and polish furniture and fixtures; tidy light globes and Venetian blinds.
  • Wash walls, windows, and ceilings using compact ladders.
  • Refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers; replenish paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizers, and soap.
  • Relocate furniture as needed.
  • Carry out assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Perform discharge cleaning of patient rooms.
