The Central Intelligence Agency is seeking a Firefighter to join its emergency response crew in Washington, DC. In this non-supervisory role, you’ll respond to and mitigate fires, hazardous materials incidents, auto accidents, and give emergency medical care.
Firefighters are located out of a fire station and work apparatus covering Engine/Pumper, Tower/Ladder, Rescue/Squad, and ALS ambulances. Work in this role covers combating fires, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and emergency medical care.
A notable portion of the workday involves training, hands-on evolutions, and standby responsibilities for high-hazard activities. Firefighters operate 48-hour shifts (144-hour bi-weekly schedule) and may require to function overtime or be recalled during large-scale emergencies.
The perform is physically demanding, involving exposure to extreme heat, smoke, falling materials, toxic chemicals, and other hazards. This role needs a 5-year offering commitment upon entrance on task.

Salary & Compensation
Salary / Settle Package: $79,891 - $123,072 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for the GS-6 to GS-9 Firefighter role, you must encounter minimum conditions such as Firefighter Level I & II (NFPA 1001), EMT certification, and three years of fire and EMS expertise. Age cap is 37 at appointment unless prior federal solution in a covered post.

- accredited by Pro Board, IFSAC, or VDFP.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, National Registry or Virginia OEMS recognized.
- FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800.
- Three (3) years of fire and EMS know-how.
- Sound driver's license.
- Age 37 or under at appointment (exceptions for prior federal covered offering.
- Physically suitable: capable to lift/carry 125 lbs, pass NFPA 1582 physical.
- Background as attendant-in-charge of ambulance or medic unit.
- U.S. Citizenship and aptitude to pass CIA background investigation, medical/psych exam, polygraph.
- Desired: ARFF, Driver Pump/Aerial Operator, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, Hazmat Technician, AEMT or Paramedic.
Role Responsibilities
