Job Description
Olympic College is building an candidate pool for General Tutor positions at its Bremerton Campus. Tutors help students build competencies in disciplines such as Biology, Composition, Engineering, English, Languages, and Writing.
You’ll assist students with assignments, interpret discipline-specific problems, clarify critical thinking and communication abilities, and assist online learning. This role reports to the Director of Tutoring and is section of the Instruction & Classroom Back Tech 1 classification.
The college continuously recruits for these positions throughout the year, and applications remain active for 12 months. This is a great opening for present students or graduates who excel academically and hope to support peers in a high-volume study center environment.
Salary & Compensation
Salary / Settle Package: $20 - $26 per hour.
Qualification
To qualify, you must have finished the course(s) you hope to tutor with a grade of 3.5 or higher. You want a high school diploma or equivalent, or be a existing Running Launch student.
A reference from an instructor or professor is called for if you’re a current Olympic College student.

- Completion of course(s) to be tutored with an average decimal grade of 3.5 or higher.

- Core computer competency.
- Demonstrated excellence in the tutoring subject sphere.

Role Responsibilities

- Follow campus regulations and area, state, and federal laws.
- Operate successfully in high-attendance, high-volume study centers.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Additional Information
- This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week.
- Visa sponsorship isn’t on offer; only candidates cleared to perform in the U.S. Will be considered.
- Hourly employees must function 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to turn into eligible for health gains.
- Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement.
