Job Description
Olympic College is recruiting for Geography Adjunct Faculty to train introductory and sophisticated geography courses on a part-time basis at its Bremerton Campus and other locations.
This role reports to the Interim Dean of STEM and involves preparing syllabi, providing instruction, grading, and keeping up student records. This role is best-suited for educators who can communicate geographic concepts effectively and employ technology in teaching.
Adjunct positions are filled on a quarter-by-quarter basis from a continuous candidate pool. Candidates remain active for 12 months and may be contacted when vacancies occur. The college values diversity and seeks instructors who can operate with many students and colleagues.
Salary & Compensation
Pay / Settle Package: $1,000 per year.
Qualification
A Master's degree in Geography is needed. A related Master's degree with substantial graduate-level Geography coursework may be considered. Computer abilities such as Microsoft applications are needed.

- Computer skills covering Microsoft submissions.
- Winning know-how teaching Geography at a college or university preferred.
- Background with Learning Management System software such as Canvas desired.
- Demonstrated insight of alternative teaching ways, such as technology in instruction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication expertise.
- Aptitude to collaborate with colleagues, team, and students as section of an educational team.
- Demonstrated win functioning with diverse cultural, geographic, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Role Responsibilities
Get ready and instruct developmental and/or college-level Geography courses.
- Supply high-quality, enthusiastic instruction covering related preparation and grading.
- Offer class syllabi to students and to the division office as requested.
- Keep precise records of students and wrap up forms and records as required.
- Uphold a flexible schedule to accommodate evening instruction.
- May include teaching at Bremerton, Poulsbo, and Shelton campuses.
- Keep up clear and punctual communication with students, faculty, and workforce.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Adjunct positions are contracted on a quarterly basis and aren’t eligible for gains upon initial hire.
- Adjunct faculty must work 50% of a full-time load for two consecutive quarters to become eligible for benefits.
- Upsides after eligibility may include deferred compensation, TIAA supplemental retirement, sick depart, Aflac, tuition waiver, EAP, fitness center, and reduced-rate childcare.
- A background inspect such as criminal record history will be conducted before recruit.
- You must finish a Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form as called for by Washington State law.
- Employees must reside in Washington State and within a sensible distance of the campus.
