The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division at Point Mugu, California, is hiring an Interdisciplinary Engineer (Program Manager) to serve in the AIR WING I&I/EW EFFECTS PRD DIR Next Generation Air Dominance.

This role is responsible for the business and operational execution of an Integrated Product Team (IPT). You will lead a matrixed operations team covering finance, contracts, COR support, security, facilities, IT, training, workforce management, and administration.

You will establish IPT operational priorities, align support activities to mission needs, drive issue resolution, and ensure matrixed contributors are synchronized with IPT execution demands.

Qualification

To qualify for this DP-4 position.. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DP-03) or GS grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer or Scientist.

  • Integrating and managing business, financial, and operational functions (e.g., staffing, infrastructure, facilities, and IT/security requirements) to support technical or acquisition programs.
  • Monitoring, forecasting, and advising leadership on financial spend plans, contract execution, and resource constraints to ensure mission readiness.
  • Leading or coordinating cross-functional or matrixed teams (e.g., finance, contracts, administration) to resolve operational issues and meet program demands.
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders or program sponsors to translate mission needs into executable operational or resourcing plans.
  • Applicants must meet the basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual for an engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used if documentation shows it is comparable to U.S. accredited education.
  • Volunteer work, including through National Service programs, is considered qualifying experience.
  • Current federal employees must meet time-in-band requirements by the closing date.
Role Responsibilities

Lead the business and operational execution of the Integrated Product Team (IPT).

  • Lead a matrixed operations team composed of personnel from finance, contracts, COR support, security, facilities, IT, training, workforce management, and administration.
  • Establish IPT operational priorities and align support activities to mission needs.
  • Drive issue resolution and ensure matrixed contributors are synchronized with IPT execution demands.
  • Execute IPT growth across China Lake and Point Mugu locations.
  • Oversee the IPT's team of CORs by coordinating COR coverage, contract execution visibility, contractor onboarding support, service contract requirements, tasking alignment, performance concern visibility, and future contract support needs.
  • Monitor, forecast, and advise leadership on financial spend plans, contract execution, and resource constraints.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders or program sponsors to translate mission needs into executable operational or resourcing plans.
Conditions & Requirements

Must be a US Citizen.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites; must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required; subject to random testing.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
