Job Description
You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist in the Research & Development Group, Spectrum Warfare Department at NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU in Point Mugu, California.
Your primary focus will be defining EW flight line test and maintenance requirements, delivering test products and solutions to NAVAIR's Domestic and International Community.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer or scientist with a background in electronic warfare support equipment and senior-level program management.
Qualification
To qualify for this Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist position at DP-5.. You must meet the basic education requirements for the 08XX.. 1310.. Or 1550 series and have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12/13 or DP-04. This experience must include developing EW support equipment, delivering technical solutions with cybersecurity compliance, and managing multi-million-dollar portfolios.

- Must meet basic education requirements for the 08XX, 1310, or 1550 series: a degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a combination of education and experience that provides a thorough knowledge of physical and mathematical sciences.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12/13 or DP-04 in federal service or equivalent in private/public sector.
- Specialized experience must include: (1) Developing, integrating, fielding, and sustaining Support Equipment (SE) Organizational-Level (O-level) maintenance test products for EW and CNI systems for complex platforms.
- Delivering technical solutions that align with acquisition priorities and comply with cybersecurity and software assurance policies.
- Performing senior-level program management, overseeing multi-million-dollar portfolios including budget planning, resource allocation, and risk management, while leading diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Managing, motivating, and developing teams by resolving conflicts and achieving project milestones.
- Current federal employees must meet time-in-band requirements by the closing date.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) and be subject to random testing.
Role Responsibilities
Define EW flight line test and maintenance requirements for system sustainment and deliver test products and solutions to NAVAIR's Domestic and International Community.
- Provide senior-level technical expertise and project leadership support for NAWCWD to ensure EW Support Equipment solutions are effective for current, modern, and future mission objectives.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical expertise ensuring domestic and international partners' EW systems maintain operational availability and interoperability.
- Provide project updates and status reports, present proposals, and provide technical consultation as an EW Support Equipment Engineering and Support Equipment Systems SME.
- Collaborate across services and platforms to deliver solutions supporting EW operations to address current and future gaps for platform availability to the Warfighter.
- Develop, integrate, field, and sustain Support Equipment (SE) Organizational-Level (O-level) maintenance test products for EW and CNI systems for complex platforms.
- Deliver technical solutions that align with acquisition priorities and comply with cybersecurity and software assurance policies.
