You will serve as the RF Kill Chain Technology Lead in the Sensors, Signal Processing and Exploitation Engineering Division (Code D521200) of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

In this role, you will be the senior technical leader and portfolio manager for projects focused on developing RF signal processing technology, automatic target recognition technology, and signal exploitation technologies that enable closing kill chain gaps.

You will manage a portfolio of projects conducting basic and applied research, technology demonstration, and technology transition to Program of Record and other platforms.

Qualification

To qualify for this DP-5 position.. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer.

  • Communicating clearly and concisely across a diverse audience.
  • Negotiating and collaborating with sponsors to develop, justify, and execute a portfolio of project plans and products.
  • Utilizing knowledge of tactical use cases of radar for electronic warfare and targeting.
  • Making decisions and recommendations that influence projects, programs and policies.
  • Successful completion of a professional engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, or alternative education as specified by OPM (e.g., passing the FE exam, PE license, or 60 semester hours in engineering sciences).
  • Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE) may substitute for education requirements.
  • Experience can include paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
Role Responsibilities

Serve as the senior technical leader/portfolio manager for RF signal processing, automatic target recognition, and signal exploitation projects.

  • Manage a portfolio of projects from basic and applied research through technology demonstration and transition to Program of Record and other platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic road map for related technologies and build strategic relationships to accomplish larger goals.
  • Interact with national agencies (OSD, ONI, ONR, etc.) and Navy, Army, and Air Force agencies to develop concepts, proposals, seek funding, execute projects, and transition technology.
  • Work with IPT leaders and PMA teams to plan, budget, and execute transition of capabilities to platforms.
  • Work with prime contractors to expedite transition and provide affordable capability to the warfighter.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely across diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and collaborate with sponsors to develop, justify, and execute a portfolio of project plans and products.
