Job Description
The City of Seattle is hiring Intermittent Ushers for McCaw Hall at Seattle Center. Ushers provide excellent customer service and support public safety before, during, and after performances. This role is perfect for students, those seeking supplemental income, or anyone passionate about the arts.
You can choose your schedule around classes, vacations, or other commitments. Most shifts are evenings, weekends, and holidays, with some day shifts available. McCaw Hall is the exclusive venue for Pacific Northwest Ballet and Seattle Opera, and also hosts concerts, comedians, and corporate events.
There are also opportunities to work events on Seattle Center grounds.
Salary & Compensation
Salary: $26.92 per hour.
Qualification
This role is open to individuals with strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor. No specific degree or prior usher experience is required, but a passion for the arts and ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patrons as they enter the venue.
- Scan tickets and direct patrons to their seats.
- Answer questions about the venue, events, and facilities.
- Monitor aisles and seating areas for safety and compliance.
- Assist with crowd control during entry, intermission, and exit.
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience.
- Participate in emergency procedures as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other ushers and venue staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas.
- Perform other guest services duties as assigned.

- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
