Job Description
The Washington State Department of Organic Tools (DNR) Facilities Scheme is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic 2 to join their group in Tumwater, 2. This full-time, permanent, represented role (WPEA) is responsible for keeping up buildings and grounds across DNR facilities.
You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems. Salary & Compensation
Salary: $61,332 - $71,136 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for the Maintenance Mechanic 2 post, you need a background in building and grounds maintenance, construction, or facility management. Experience with managing service contractors, landscaping, or tenant engagement is also valued. Veterans with mission planning and execution experience are encouraged to put in.
- Know-how in building and grounds maintenance, construction, or facility management.
- Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.
- Experience managing solution contractors, landscaping, or tenant engagement (preferred).
- Aptitude to perform effectively as portion of a staff and independently.
- Legitimate driver's license and capacity to travel to various work sites.
- Physical aptitude to perform manual labor, such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and functioning in various weather conditions.
- Core computer competencies for operate order tracking and communication.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems covering HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
- Run routine inspections of facilities and grounds to identify repair requires.
- Organize and oversee function performed by external contractors.
- Keep up landscaping, such as mowing, trimming, and snow removal.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform repairs as needed.
- Hold correct records of work performed, materials applied, and time spent.
- Work and uphold tools, equipment, and vehicles employed in maintenance jobs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and agency policies.
- Assist with tenant engagement and facility-related communications.
- Aid agency events and special projects as assigned.

- This is a full-time, permanent, represented role covered by the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA).
- Perform location is Tumwater, WA; operate hour flexibility may be available.
- A sound Washington State driver's license is needed.
- Must be capable to pass a background verify.
