Job Description

Management Assistant-Parks and Recreation is listed by City of Reno. The City of Reno's Parks Maintenance Division is hiring a Management Assistant to provide administrative, analytical, technical, and program support for efficient parks maintenance services.

This role coordinates activities with city departments, outside agencies, and the public; provides staff support on operational and administrative initiatives; and may supervise, train, and oversee assigned administrative support staff. This is an internal recruitment open only to current qualified classified City of Reno employees.

One vacancy is available in the Parks and Recreation Department, with hiring beginning immediately after the recruitment closes. This recruitment also establishes a list for future vacancies.

Salary & Compensation

Salary: $69,035 - $97,136 per year.

Qualification

This internal recruitment is open only to current qualified classified City of Reno employees. Candidates must meet the qualifications for a Management Assistant position as determined by the City of Reno's classification standards.

  • Current classified City of Reno employee.
  • Qualified for Management Assistant classification per City standards.
  • Experience in administrative, analytical, technical, or program support.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with city departments, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to provide staff support on operational and administrative initiatives.
  • Supervisory or training experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of parks maintenance operations is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative, analytical, technical, and program support to the Parks Maintenance Division.
  • Coordinate activities with City departments, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Provide staff support on operational and administrative initiatives.
  • Supervise, train, and oversee assigned administrative support staff.
  • Assist in ensuring efficient delivery of parks maintenance services.
  • Support division goals and objectives through analysis and recommendations.

  • Successful completion of background check.
  • Valid Nevada driver's license may be required.
  • Ability to work full-time schedule.
