Job Description
Yuma County is hiring a Medical Assistant (Grade 7) to support public health services in Yuma, Arizona. This full-time role involves administering immunizations, preparing patients for examinations, performing laboratory procedures, and assisting Public Health Nurses with home visits and community education.

Qualification
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for Medical Assistant Grade 7 with Yuma County. This typically includes certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent training and experience, plus the ability to perform routine clinical and administrative duties in a public health setting.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, immunization schedules, and patient care procedures.
- Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately.
- Experience with electronic health records and data entry.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel for home visits and community programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer immunizations and process/update immunization records.
- Prepare patients for examination, procedures, and treatments.
- Measure and record vital signs or health status of clients/patients.
- Perform various laboratory and measurement procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
- Assist Public Health Nurse with home visits and educational programs in the community.
- Schedule appointments and referrals.
- Answer, screen, and route phone calls.
- Type records and reports; enter data into computer.
- Maintain program files and confidential health records.

- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Valid Arizona driver's license or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings or weekends for community events.
- Physical ability to perform home visits and lift up to 25 pounds.
