Job Description
The City of Valdez Convention and Civic Center is hiring a Movie & Event Solution Tech to run and boost the Town's cinema operations and support with happening and facility support.
Under general supervision, this role oversees weekly cinema operations, supervises part-time workforce, assists with event setup and teardown, and closes the facility during evening and weekend hours.
This entirely benefited hourly role functions a non-traditional but flexible schedule of 37.5 hours per week, normally Thursday through Monday, such as evenings and holidays. This role is best-suited for someone with audio/visual technical skills who enjoys a dynamic function environment in Valdez, Alaska.
Salary & Compensation
Salary: $54,502 - $73,788 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for the Movie & Occasion Offering Tech post, you must gather the minimum qualifications as specified by the City of Valdez. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Know-how in cinema operations, happening setup, or audio/visual technical back preferred.
- Aptitude to supervise part-time team.

- Ability to lift and shift equipment up to 50 pounds.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage weekly cinema operations covering scheduling, ticket sales, and concessions.
- Advance cinema events and programs to the community.
- Oversee and train part-time cinema and occasion workforce.
- Aid with event setup, teardown, and audio/visual technical assist.
- Work projection and sound equipment.
- Close the facility after evening and weekend events.
- Keep up cleanliness and body of cinema and happening spaces.
- Manage cash and reconcile everyday sales reports.
