Job Description

The 628 Force Support Squadron is hiring an Operations Clerk to perform substantive clerical work supporting the Airman and Family Services Flight at the Youth Center on Naval Weapons Station, Goose Creek, SC. This is a Regular Full-Time Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position, guaranteed a minimum of 35 hours per week.

The role involves preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining children's files and classroom rosters, monitoring enrollment, and assisting with parent orientation meetings. Ideal for applicants with clerical or office experience who enjoy working in a youth-focused environment.

Salary & Compensation

Salary: $20.88 per hour.

Qualification

Open to all U.S. Citizens, Nationals, and those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have clerical or office work experience demonstrating the ability to perform at the NF-3 grade level. Education may substitute for experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of recurring and non-recurring correspondence, reports, and documents (e.g., medication log, incident/accident log).
  • Compose non-technical correspondence such as office procedure instructions, information requests, and acknowledgement letters.
  • Transmit and receive documents and messages electronically.
  • Monitor the number of children enrolled in weekly programs and respond to requests as appropriate.
  • Participate in parent orientation meetings.
  • Consolidate and finalize information from systems and files for various reports.
  • Prepare and maintain classroom rosters, special needs lists, and allergy lists.
  • Maintain children's files in accordance with established procedures.
  • Contact parents to request missing information and notify director of difficulties.
  • Contact parents to report injuries that occur.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Non-U.S. National who has resided in the U.S. Territory for three or more consecutive years immediately preceding Federal affiliation.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Ability to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations, including annual influenza vaccinations; must be free of all communicable diseases.
  • Favorable pre-employment physical due to physical lifting requirement.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
