Job Description
The Oxnard School District is hiring a Paraeducator - Special Education to perform straight with students who have learning, emotional, physical, and behavioral disabilities. Under general supervision, you’ll reinforce lessons, assist small cluster and full set instruction, and support with behavioral and health requires. You may also operate one-on-one with assigned students, assist with personal hygiene, and wrap up paperwork and classroom materials.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $24.60 - $29.90 per hour.
Qualification
To qualify for this Paraeducator - Special Education role, you must meet the education and expertise needs set by the Oxnard School District. This role requires the aptitude to function with special education students and aid their instructional and behavioral wants.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is needed.
- Completion of at least 48 college semester units or an associate's degree (or higher), or passing a nearby assessment of insight and expertise (e.g., ParaPro test).
- Background functioning with children, preferably in a unique education setting.
- Capacity to abide by instructions and work under the supervision of a teacher or therapist.
- Patience, empathy, and robust communication skills.
- Aptitude to aid with personal hygiene and behavioral support as needed.
- Must pass a background check and TB screening.
- Legitimate California driver's license may be called for for some assignments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to person or minor groups of distinct education students to reinforce lessons.
- Assist speech therapists in assessing and providing offerings to students.
- Back students with specialized behavioral and health demands.
- Support with personal hygiene tasks as needed.
- Monitor and record student behavior and performance.
- Perform one-on-one with assigned students who have learning, emotional, physical, or behavioral disabilities.
- Assist compact cluster and entire set instruction in collaboration with unique education or general education teachers.
- Finalize paperwork and produce classroom materials for instruction and behavioral aid.
- Perform related responsibilities as assigned.

- Must be capable to operate 5.75 hours per day, 183 days per year.
- Must pass a criminal background inspect and TB test.
- Must be physically able to assist students with mobility and personal hygiene.
- Must be open to function onsite at the assigned school location.
- Must comply with district policies and procedures.
