The Hampton VA Medical Center is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Automation to cater to as the automation specialist across all patient care areas of the pharmacy offering.
This role is responsible for the everyday maintenance and oversight of all inpatient and outpatient pharmacy automated dispensing equipment, both within the pharmacy and at the nearby facility level.

Salary: $67,747 - $84,168 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for this GS-8 Pharmacy Technician Automation post, you must gather fundamental conditions such as US citizenship, English proficiency, and active national certification through PTCB (CPhT) or NHA (ExCPT). Also, you require one year of know-how equivalent to GS-07 and must reveal the called for KSAs.
- United States Citizenship needed; non-citizens may be appointed only when qualified citizens can’t be recruited per VA policy.
- English Language Proficiency: must be proficient in spoken and written English as authorized by 38 U.S.C. § 7403(f).
- Certification: must grip active national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or as an ExCPT through NHA.

- Background: one year of expertise equivalent to GS-07 level.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Arrange technical aspects of pharmacy drug distribution to align normal working procedures with automation capabilities.
- Suggest changes to improve workflow, perform methods, and priorities within the drug distribution system.
- Evaluate and analyze workflow, organize all operate activities involving pharmacy automation.
- Troubleshoot automated dispensing equipment challenges and alert appropriate personnel when production is compromised.
- Guarantee automated dispensing information is archived within established guidelines for each sort of equipment.
- Participate in workflow action teams to improve automation caliber and safety.
- Resolve issues and complaints about pharmacy and automated dispensing automation.
- Assist as subject matter specialist and pivotal reference for day-to-day technician responsibilities in the specialized automation domain.
- Train and orient new and current pharmacy facility employees and students on proper policies and procedures.
