Job Description
The Veterans Health Administration is hiring a Physician - Endocrinologist to supply complete outpatient endocrine and diabetic care at the Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FxHCC) in Virginia.
This role is portion of the VA Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) and involves managing patients with ongoing medical conditions, performing diagnostic testing, and collaborating with midlevel providers and physician colleagues. The physician will interpret EKGs, assess bone density studies, and perform thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsies.

Salary & Compensation
Salary / Pay Package: $123,077 - $300,000 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for this Physician - Endocrinologist role (Grade VM 00), you must encounter core conditions: U.S.
Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens can’t be recruited), a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school, and a existing, packed, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or territory.

- Present, complete, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S., or the District of Columbia.
- Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty plan leading to board certification eligibility.
- Residency must be ACGME or AOA accredited; non-U.S. Residencies demand five years of verified U.S. Practice.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Must pass pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
- Selective Offering registration called for for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination scheme required.
- Candidates pending completion of training or license may be tentatively selected but not hired until all needs are met.

Role Responsibilities
- Give consultative outpatient endocrine and diabetic patient care at Fredericksburg Health Care Center.
- Meeting, examine, and pick diagnostic testing appropriately; interpret and collate effects to arrange patient care.
- Communicate and document plainly with patients and medical personnel to organize care.
- Manage midlevel providers within the Endocrine section as suitable.
- Interpret EKGs, examine bone density studies, and perform thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsies.
- Offer consultative input to outpatient care and collaborate with midlevel providers and physician colleagues.
- Participate in educational programs for section personnel and medical staff.
- Monitor quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care at the section and facility level; participate in standard assurance programs and chart reviews.
