Job Description
The Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (CMRTA) is hiring a Planning and Development Manager to lead transit planning and development initiatives in Columbia, South Carolina. Salary & Compensation
Pay / Cover Package: $55,000 - $87,000 per year.
Qualification
Candidates for the Planning and Development Manager post should have a bachelor's degree in urban planning, transportation, public administration, or a related field, plus several years of progressively responsible experience in transit or transportation planning.

- Background with federal and state grant programs (e.g., FTA, SCDOT.
- Knowledge of transit service planning, scheduling, and performance analysis.

- Aptitude to analyze data and prepare reports for board and public meetings.
- Legitimate driver's license and ability to travel within the solution sphere.
Role Responsibilities
- Build and update the agency's short- and long-range transit blueprints.
- Run grant submissions, reporting, and compliance for capital and working projects.
- Arrange with nearby governments, MPOs, and community bodies on transit initiatives.
- Oversee planning staff and consultants on unique projects.
- Analyze ridership figures and offering performance to advise improvements.
- Present planning recommendations to the board of directors and public forums.
- Support the development of the agency's annual budget and capital improvement strategy.
