Cadets gain exposure to sworn positions (Police Trainee, academy attendance) or civilian roles such as Dispatcher, Jailer, Police Offerings Technician, or Records/Solutions.

- Must adhere to all San Pablo Police Department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, covering Use of Force, Driving, Uniform and Grooming, Professional Standards, and Ride-Along policies.

Role Responsibilities
Perform clerical responsibilities: retain records, enter information into computer systems, answer telephones, offer data and directions to the public.
- Routine details, get ready reports, correspondence, statistical and narrative reports; research and analyze info.
- Master and register City law enforcement policies, procedures, and related state/federal laws.
- Grasp usual broadcasting procedures of a police radio system.
- Help with processing and storing evidence, storage inventory, and control of department supplies.
- Assist with parking enforcement, traffic control, and DUI checkpoints.
- Participate in the Ride-Along scheme at least once a month, such as written after-action reports.
- Create and uphold positive working relationships with the public using client solution principles.

This is a part-time, non-sworn post with a pay variety of $2,557
