Police Cadet (PART-TIME)

You must be at least 18 years old at appointment, possess a sound California C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, and be no-cost of any felony convictions. U.S. Citizenship or resident alien status with citizenship submission by appointment date is needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (completion of 12th grade).
• Must finalize a minimum of six semester units of college coursework per semester (or twelve quarter units per year), with at least twelve units wrapped up yearly.
• Uphold a minimum grade detail average of 2.0 ("C" grade) for all courses taken.
• If pursuing a Bachelor's Degree, may continue in the plan until 24th birthday; must keep up GPA and unit needs.
• Cadets who complete a Bachelor's Degree may remain until 24th birthday.
• Must be fit to perform necessary position functions, such as physical conditions.
• Must adhere to all San Pablo Police Department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, covering Use of Force, Driving, Uniform and Grooming, Professional Standards, and Ride-Along policies.
• Must recognize and comply with applicable State and Federal laws (Penal, Vehicle, Health and Safety).

Perform clerical responsibilities: retain records, enter information into computer systems, answer telephones, offer data and directions to the public.

• Routine details, get ready reports, correspondence, statistical and narrative reports; research and analyze info.
• Master and register City law enforcement policies, procedures, and related state/federal laws.
• Grasp usual broadcasting procedures of a police radio system.
• Help with processing and storing evidence, storage inventory, and control of department supplies.
• Assist with parking enforcement, traffic control, and DUI checkpoints.
• Participate in the Ride-Along scheme at least once a month, such as written after-action reports.
• Create and uphold positive working relationships with the public using client solution principles.

This is a part-time, non-sworn post with a pay variety of $2,557

• $3,106 per year.
• The role is unseal continuously; submissions are accepted until the vacancy is filled.
• Cadets must keep up ongoing college enrollment and GPA; failure to do so may consequence in release from employment.
• The program is designed for career advancement into sworn or civilian law enforcement roles.
• All positions may require perform on holidays, evenings, weekends, and varied shifts.
