The City of Hayward Police Department is accepting applications for Police Officer (Lateral). This role is for experienced law enforcement professionals who by now keep a Fundamental California POST Certificate and have at least one year of service within the last 36 months.

Qualification
You must have at least one year of law enforcement know-how within the last 36 months and possess a present Core California POST Certificate. A high school diploma or equivalent is needed; an associate's or bachelor's degree is desirable.

- Possession of a existing Elementary California POST Certificate.

- Must pass a background investigation and encounter all medical, physical, and psychological standards.

Role Responsibilities
Patrol assigned domains on foot or in a patrol vehicle, making routine security reviews and looking for suspicious circumstances.
- Run a patrol car, motorcycle, or other vehicle.
- Respond to radio and telephone dispatches, appearing at scenes of disorder or crime.
- Resolve disputes, admonish people, respond to accidents, and give emergency first aid.
- Arrest and cite violators of laws and ordinances.
- Investigate calls, complaints, and traffic accidents; get ready and document cases; compose reports; assist warrants and subpoenas; testify in court.
- Arrange crime scene control and create early investigations of crimes and crime scenes.
- Assist detectives and other investigators; process evidence; book and transport prisoners.
