The City of Hayward Police Department is accepting submissions for Police Officer (Lateral). This role is for experienced law enforcement professionals who by now hold a Core California POST Certificate and have at least one year of solution within the last 36 months.
Officers perform many assignments covering patrol, traffic control, criminal and juvenile investigation, and radio communication. The department runs on a community policing philosophy and serves one of the most diverse cities in California.

Role Responsibilities
Patrol assigned fields on foot or in a patrol vehicle, making routine security checks and looking for suspicious circumstances.nOperate a patrol car, motorcycle, or other vehicle.nRespond to radio and telephone dispatches, appearing at scenes of disorder or crime.nResolve disputes, admonish individuals, respond to accidents, and supply emergency first aid.nArrest and cite violators of laws and ordinances.nInvestigate calls, complaints, and traffic accidents. Arrange and document cases; compose reports; cater to warrants and subpoenas; testify in court.nCoordinate crime scene control and create initial investigations of crimes and crime scenes.nAssist detectives and other investigators; routine evidence; book and transport prisoners.
