Salary & Compensation
Salary / Cover Package: $92,035 - $120,471 per year.
Qualification
You must be graduates of a CA POST Certified Police Academy or currently enrolled in one. A copy of the POST Certificate must be attached to the submission. You must be at least 21 years old by the time of sworn appointment and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- High school diploma or equivalent needed; college coursework in criminology or police sciences desirable.
- Must be 21 years of age by the time of sworn appointment.
- Graduate of a CA POST Certified Police Academy or currently enrolled in one.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license.
- Possession of a Core POST Certificate.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident alien who has applied for U.S. Citizenship.
- Prior law enforcement know-how is desirable but not required.
- Capacity to work various shifts as assigned.
Role Responsibilities
Patrol assigned domains by car, foot, motorcycle or bicycle; perform crime suppression and prevention.
- Run first and follow-up investigations; meeting victims, complainants and witnesses.
- Enforce traffic laws; carry out complete accident investigations; control and straight traffic.
- Perform crowd control, distinct event or riot duties; support with crime prevention and juvenile delinquency control.
- Administer first aid in emergencies; transport, book and care for detained persons.
- Train and assist less experienced personnel; assist as Field Training Officer or in specialized programs.
- May cater to as a detective; arrange investigations of crimes against persons and property, vice, gaming and narcotics.
- Collect, preserve and uphold evidence; prepare reports; testify in court.
