Job Description
The Hercules Police Department is accepting submissions for Police Officer Trainee. This is a non-sworn, training-level post for individuals who haven’t yet wrapped up a Basic P.O.S.T. Academy.
As a trainee, your leading responsibility is to go to a P.O.S.T.-certified police academy to build the minimum qualifications needed to turn into an entry-level sworn Hercules Police Officer.
The department will sponsor your academy training, setting you on a route to a meaningful career in law enforcement. This role is best-suited for motivated people who wish to cater to their community and are set to commit to rigorous training.
You’ll be portion of a team that protects life, property, and public order as upholding the California Peace Officers Standards and Training Law Enforcement Code of Ethics. The role provides a beginning cover of $48.27 per hour and is full-time.
The submission period is continuous, sense there’s no place closing date, but ahead of time submission is encouraged. The shortlisting routine contains a panel meeting, extensive background review, polygraph, psychological exam, and physical.
Salary & Compensation
Pay / Settle Package: $48 per hour.
Qualification
To qualify for the Police Officer Trainee role, you must submit a P.O.S.T. Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) T-Score of 45 or better, issued within the past 18 months on authorized agency letterhead. Applicants who don’t attach this score won’t shift forward.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of submission.
- U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to operate in the United States.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Legitimate California driver's license or aptitude to obtain one.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
- Capacity to pass a thorough background investigation, such as polygraph, psychological exam, and physical agility test.
- PELLETB T-Score of 45 or better (within 18 months).
- Willingness to attend and successfully complete a P.O.S.T.-certified police academy.
Role Responsibilities
Take part in and successfully finalize a P.O.S.T.-certified police academy.
- Upon academy graduation, finish the Patrol Field Training Scheme.
- Patrol assigned spheres to ensure security of life and property, deter crime, and report unsafe conditions.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for solution.
- Enforce state, nearby, and federal laws; concern citations and form arrests.
- Get ready evidence and testify in court.
- Work police equipment covering computers, radios, and firearms.
- Shield the life, property, public order, and constitutional rights of all citizens.
