The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Research and Development (ORD), is hiring a Research Health Science Specialist to support research programs that enhance veteran health outcomes. This role is set at the Omaha ORD VISN 23 location in Nebraska.
As a Research Health Science Specialistyou’ll be the connection between veterans and innovative research projects.
You’ll help with spotting and recruiting patients for study protocols, communicate with participants via phone or mail, and support confirm studies comply with federal and area regulations, covering human subject protection and data security.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $61,722 - $80,243 per year.
Qualification
Federal employees must also meet time-in-grade conditions: 52 weeks at the GS-07 level. The core needs cover specialized know-how or education as described below.
- Time-In-Grade: Existing or former federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 level (any occupation) within the last 52 weeks. Submit SF-50(s) showing time-in-grade.
- Specialized Expertise: One year of background equivalent to GS-07, such as collecting and analyzing records, performing well-precedented assignments, advising on healthcare wants, implementing new procedures, and correlating information.
- Education Substitution: You may qualify located on fitting licensure, certification, registration, or a substantial record of know-how, achievement, and publications demonstrating eminence in the field.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Aid with spotting and recruiting patients to participate in study protocols.
- Communicate with referred participants via phone or mail and give consent forms as needed.
