Job Description
County of Solano is hiring a Stationary Engineer to operate, uphold, and repair stationary engines, boilers, and mechanical equipment in county facilities. Qualification
You must have a sound California Stationary Engineer license suitable to the class of equipment operated. Experience in working and keeping up boilers, chillers, and related systems is needed.
- Legitimate California Stationary Engineer license (appropriate class).
- Know-how running and keeping up boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.
- Insight of mechanical systems, electrical controls, and safety procedures.
- Ability to go through and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Physical aptitude to perform inspections and repairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
- Sound California driver's license may be required.
Role Responsibilities
- Run and monitor boilers, chillers, pumps, and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems.
- Inspect equipment for safety and efficiency; log readings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical concerns.
- Keep up records of operations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Confirm compliance with safety regulations and codes.
- Arrange with contractors and other county departments.
