Job Description
The County of Monterey Public Works, Facilities & Parks Department is hiring a Supervising Sanitation Worker to lead the operation, maintenance, and repair of pump stations, sewer lines, and other sanitary sewer collection systems.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $6,025 - $8,229 per year.
Qualification
Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications established by the County of Monterey for this classification. - Experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of sanitary sewer collection systems.
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership ability.
- Knowledge of pump stations, sewer lines, and appurtenant structures.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical manuals.
- Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Veterans and eligible military spouses may qualify for preference points.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of pump stations and sewer lines.
- Assign and review work of sanitation workers and crews.
- Inspect sewer system components for proper functioning and safety.
- Respond to emergency calls and coordinate repairs.
- Maintain records and prepare reports on system operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Train and evaluate subordinate staff.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in sewer system maintenance.
