Job Description
The McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, part of the U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command, is hiring a Supply Technician (OA) to serve as an Information Technology Inventory Specialist and Mail Clerk.
This position is located in McAlester, Oklahoma, and is responsible for managing IT property and equipment inventory, as well as mail distribution operations, in accordance with federal regulations.
This is a developmental position that can be filled at the GS-05, GS-06, or GS-07 level, with duties performed under closer supervision at the lower grades.
The role is ideal for individuals with experience in supply or inventory management who are looking to grow within the federal logistics career field. The position is full-time, permanent, and does not offer telework or remote work options.
Salary & Compensation
Salary: $50,460 - $65,599 per year.
Qualification
This position is open to US citizens. To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience and/or education requirements for the grade level at which you apply. Experience can include paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through programs like Peace Corps or AmeriCorps.
- GS-05: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04, including using automated systems to run reports and update records, maintaining electronic databases, scanning and filing documents, or researching regulations for compliance.
- GS-05: Four years of education above high school from an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college, or university.
- GS-05: A combination of education and experience that equals 100% of the requirements.
- GS-06: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05, including receiving, storing, issuing, or shipping supplies per regulations; updating and maintaining supply inventory files; and creating or editing supply documents.
- GS-06: Half a year (9 semester hours) of graduate-level education in a relevant field.
- GS-06: A combination of education and experience that equals 100%.
- GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-06, including researching and applying supply regulations, identifying and correcting discrepancies in files and databases, reconstructing complex supply transactions, and compiling and analyzing supply data.
- GS-07: One full year of graduate-level education in a relevant field.
- GS-07: A combination of education and experience that equals 100%.
- Foreign education must be evaluated by a credential evaluation service to determine U.S. equivalency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the focal point for requisition, receipt, storage, issue, and disposal of IT property and equipment.
- Receive and dispatch accountable mail.
- Coordinate delivery of IT equipment and systems between receiving point and IT department.
- Ensure IT equipment is properly tested and coded before disposition.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliation reports of all purchases and delivered items.
- Use automated systems to run reports, update records, and process electronic documents.
- Maintain electronic database information.
- Scan and file documents for future reference.
- Research regulations to determine compliance.
- At the GS-07 level, reconstruct complex supply transactions and compile supply data to update inventory.

- Appointment subject to suitability or fitness determination based on a background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Males born after December 31, 1959 must register with Selective Service.
