You will serve as a Supply Technician within NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE, located at Naval Air Station Key West, FL.

Qualification

To qualify for this GS-7 Supply Technician position, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level, or a combination of education and experience. Specialized experience includes inventory procedures, discrepancy reporting, computer proficiency, and managing customer expectations.

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Specialized experience must include
  • Familiarity with general inventory procedures and discrepancy reporting;
  • Ability to use computer programs and communicate with Fleet Logistics Center personnel;
  • Managing customer expectations and answering logistical questions about material received in the warehouse.
  • In lieu of experience, you may qualify with one full year of graduate-level education directly related to the position.
  • A combination of graduate education and experience may also qualify.
  • Volunteer work, including through National Service programs, is considered qualifying experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must pass a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current valid U.S. driver's license and a Forklift Operator license.
Role Responsibilities

Order provisions and fresh fruits and vegetables, manually determining quantities based on order history, customer requests, shelf life, and forecasting future requirements.

  • Perform database maintenance by verifying outstanding dues for validity.
  • Notify FLCJ when large discrepancies in price of items on the MSIR are noted and notify warehouse COR when discrepancies are detected in the warehouse.
  • Determine what low-demand food items will be depleted and what new food products to bring into the stock system.
  • Respond to a variety of customer, supervisor, vendor, DSCP, and DFAS inquiries, researching problems with discrepancies in verifying invoices, receiving, and issues of materials.
  • Alert inventory managers or supervisors of serious discrepancies and gaps in reported transactions.
Conditions & Requirements
