Salary: $40,736 per year.

To qualify for the SV-D cover band (equivalent to GS-5/6), you must encounter either the experience or education requirement. U.S. Citizenship and minimum age 18 are called for.

• Expertise: At least one year of full-time function background in the security sector, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
• Education: A high school diploma, GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency certificate.
• Part-time know-how is credited on a part-time ratio (e.g., 20 hours/week for two months equals one month).
• National Solution expertise (Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other volunteer operate are qualifying.

Run various screening equipment and technology to spot dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and on passengers.

• Prevent prohibited items from being transported onto aircraft.
• Perform searches and screening, covering physical pat-downs and property searches.
• Lift and bear bags, bins, and property weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Control terminal entry and exit points.
• Respond to security incidents and alarms.
• Uphold situational awareness and abide by normal working procedures.
• Supply courteous and skilled solution to travelers.
• Work rotating shifts, such as nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Travel for mandatory new take on training (3-6 weeks) away from the airport of record.

• Upon passing the TAB, you’ll be scheduled for additional assessments: a structured meeting, drug screening, and a medical evaluation (such as color vision, vision, hearing, and joint mobility tests).
• After passing assessments, you’ll undergo a pre-hire background investigation.
• Set on passing the background investigation and qualitative evaluation, you’ll be placed in 'Set for Final Post Present Status'.
• A concluding suitability determination is created after entering on responsibility and finishing a complete background investigation.
• Competencies evaluated: Attention to Aspect, Conscientiousness, Critical Thinking, Flexibility, Integrity/Honesty, Interpersonal Competencies, Oral Communication, Teamwork, Visual Observation.
