Olympic College is continuously recruiting for an Instruction & Classroom Support Tech-Tutor position at the Poulsbo Campus. This role helps students develop abilities in various disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, Composition, Engineering, English, Languages, Mathematics, and Writing.

Tutors provide academic support, assist with assignments and readings, and help students interpret discipline-specific problems. They also clarify critical thinking and communication skills and support students in online formats. This is a part-time, hourly position scheduled up to 18 hours per week.

Qualification

To be considered for the Tutor Poulsbo position.. You must meet the following minimum qualifications: a high school diploma or equivalent (or current Running Start student).. Completion of the course(s) to be tutored with a grade of 3.5 or higher.. And basic computer competency. Current Olympic College students need a reference from an instructor or professor.

Role Responsibilities

Provide academic support for students in one or more subject areas.nAssist students in analyzing assignments and assigned readings.nHelp students interpret discipline-specific problems and situations.nClarify critical thinking and communication skills.nSupport students working in an online format.nFollow campus regulations and local, state, and federal laws.nPerform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Information

This is an hourly position scheduled up to 18 hours per week.nHourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits.nHourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement.nBenefits may include Deferred Compensation Program (DRS), TIAA supplemental retirement savings plan, sick leave, paid holidays, Aflac, space available tuition waiver, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), fitness center, and priority consideration on-site childcare.nA background check including criminal record history will be conducted prior to hire.nCandidates must complete the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form as required by WB HB 2327.nThe employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the Poulsbo Campus.
