The City of Renton's Public Performs Maintenance division is accepting submissions for a Water Meter Technician. In this role, you’ll perform technical, physically labor-intensive, and operational assignments to support the department's water metering operations.
Tasks are commonly routine and recurring, but vital to exact billing and system maintenance. You’ll contribute to the City's vision, mission, and objectives in all position responsibilities.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $65,616 - $79,992 per year.
Qualification

Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and record commercial and residential water meters to determine consumption.
- Input meter readings, meter conditions, distinct instructions, and no-read motives into a handheld porta processor.
- Install, retrofit, repair, test, and maintain water meters and Automated Meter Reading (AMR) equipment.
- Uphold the accuracy and functionality of metering equipment.
- Respond to offering requests and troubleshoot meter concerns.
- Support with meter replacement programs and system upgrades.
- Document function activities and keep up records.
- Communicate with customers and the public as needed.
- Abide by safety protocols and employ personal protective equipment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the Public Works department.
Conditions & Requirements
- Must be fit to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Legitimate Washington State driver's license with a wipe down driving record.
- Aptitude to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor.
- Comfortable functioning outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be open to perform full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime.
- Adherence to City of Renton policies and procedures.
